🔬 About the Fellowship
The Short Industry Fellowship enables researchers in academia and industry (including postdoctoral researchers) to engage in short, dynamic secondments between sectors.

The fellowship is designed to:

⏳ Fellowship Duration
- Full-time: 3 to 6 months
- Part-time (50%): Up to 12 months
This flexible structure allows researchers to maintain ties with their home institution while gaining industry experience.

Selected fellows will receive:
- 💼 Basic salary support during the secondment
- 🧾 Continued employer contributions (NI & pension covered by institution)
- 💷 Up to £1,000 research expenses

🧑🔬 Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- 🎓 Hold a PhD or equivalent professional experience
- 🏢 Be employed in:
- A UK university, OR
- A UK not-for-profit research organisation, OR
- UK-based industry
- 📚 Conduct research within the natural sciences, including:
- Biology & Biomedical Sciences
- Chemistry
- Physics
- Engineering
- Mathematics and related fields
- 📅 Have a position valid beyond the fellowship period
🌍 Eligible Regions
- 🇬🇧 United Kingdom only
